Literature Text

life is fast and death is quick
hearts slow down and minds play tricks
bodies fade and souls lose hope
reaching for the past, hands grope

searching for what can't be grasped
words will weaken into gasps
broken thoughts and shattered dreams
bursting from us at the seams

fear takes hold, time slips away
we grow sicker day by day
the pain won't stop, the hurt stays strong
it's been inside us all along

but will it end when we all die?
and in the ground our carnage lies?
We are all in the process of dying; it's just a matter of how fast.

Note: The topic of this poem is severe depression and suicide, and the hope that the pain stops in the end.

This is goregous. This seems like a sonnet, but I'm not sure. The format is similar but it's under "Free & Blank Verse" so it was probably unintential. But it doesn't matter. It doesn't change how much I adore this. The imagery is simply gorgeous! I cannot wait to see more from you! :la: You also make me feel the most extreme emotions. Which is a good thing, I assure you!
